Franz Schubert's opera is a story about the love of Alfonso and Estrella, which is threatened by advances, both military and amorous, of Alfonso's rival Adolfo. This 1997 production was recorded at the Theater an der Wien, with stage direction by Jurgen Flimm and musical accompaniment from the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
