Aussie Dreams

Following fairly far off the heels of the Scream franchise is yet another entry into the teen slasher genre: The Pool. The film is presented in a decent 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer that sports little-to-no blemishes and only the slightest amount of edge enhancement in the picture. Overall the colors appear rich and textured with black levels solidly dark. The sound mix is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, as well as Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, both in English. Sadly, the 5.1 mix sounds almost identical to the 2.0 track -- directional effects and surround sounds are kept to the bare minimum. However, what the 5.1 track lacks in fidelity and depth it makes up for with a crystal clear, distortion free audio mix. Also included on this disc are English and Spanish subtitles. Only a few extra features have been included on this disc, culminating with a quick "behind-the-scenes" featurette that lasts around ten minutes and features a few interview clips with various cast members. Also included on this disc are a few cast/crew filmographies and a theatrical trailer for the film.
