Soon after Sid (Debargo Sanyal) reveals to her Indian family that she's a transgender woman, a teenage boy named Ralph (Jamie Mayers) arrives announcing he is Sid's son. As Sid works to figure out how to be a parent on top of navigating her new gender identity, her parents, boyfriend, and Ralph's mom and stepdad struggle to accept these revelations and become a modern family.
