McMillan & Wife: Season Six [3 Discs]

" Fans of the NBC mystery series McMillan and Wife will recall Season Six (1976-77) as both the first one not to co-star Susan Saint James and Nancy Walker alongside Rock Hudson, and the last season of the series per se. An explanation may be helpful, here: Walker left to topline her own series on ABC, and James walked out in the middle of a contractual dispute. In the storyline, James was written out by having Sally McMillan die in a plane crash, and Stuart got a new housekeeper in Agatha (Martha Raye). Also new to the were the character of Sgt. Steve DiMaggio (Richard Gilliland), as Mac's second assistant; and Maggie (Gloria Stroock), Mac's new secretary. This box set contains all six episodes from the final season."
