Stranger Things: Seas 2 (Blue)

Princess Anesta tells Sir Gabe the sad story of her young life in Imperium. The newly knighted Sir Gabe, who from another, more conventional world, was led through massive jeweled caves to his new home in Hidden Meadow by Throckmorton, a white crow. A land where animals could talk and even flying carpets could understand and reason.

This is a prequel/sequel to, Where 'Once Upon a Time' Began. A marvelous collection of fantasy adventures in itself. With some of the same unique characters mentioned in Imperium, like Quincy the purple unicorn & Hannalori, his mate; formerly, a butterfly fairy, who at 20 years of age could choose to remain a butterfly fairy, or metamorphose into whatever she chose to be.

Also mentioned is Brady Fontaine, who wanted desperately to be a fire-breathing dragon when he reached 20; but was persuaded by Mayor Gabe to think about the pros and cons of this drastic change; after all, butterfly fairies are considered dragon snacks, by dragons of course.

So, upon hearing Anesta's story of her life in Imperium, Gabe and his flying carpet travel from the safe haven of Hidden Meadow, where he is Mayor, to confront the dragon Fraun who was the cause of Anesta leaving her castle in Imperium; but Gabe learns that Fraun wasn't the only nemesis with which she had to contend. Some were from her extended family.

As with the first book, this book is filled with adventures, fun and funny situations of characters; some which we've read about in other fairy tales. Gabe is adamant in the fact that writers of those fairy tales have invaded places like Imperium and Hidden Meadow to witness the events occurring here and actually writing about them in that more conventional world, from where he came. The single monumental worry Sir Gabe has, is that these writers will eventually lead all outsiders in, causing his new found paradise to be overrun by curious interlopers.
