Rags & Riches: Mary Pickford Collection

"This collection pays homage to one of American film's first superstars, actress Mary Pickford, with three of Pickford's silent classics. As directed by Maurice Tourneur, The Poor Little Rich Girl (1917) casts Pickford as a wealthy 11-year-old lass who has everything a young girl could seemingly want, except for parental attention. In The Hoodlum, Pickford plays a spoiled little girl humanized by the rough living of the slums. Finally, the melodrama Sparrows (1926) stars Pickford as a young girl struggling to protect a group of orphans from a wicked captor."
