Atlantis: The Lost Empire

"Atlantis: The Lost Empire comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles on this release. Supplemental materials on this THX-certified disc include a commentary track recorded by co-directors Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, deleted scenes, a look at the computer effects, a documentary about the (possibly) real Atlantis, and a featurette centering on the linguist who created the Atlantean language spoken in the film. This is an excellent disc from Disney/Buena Vista, who deserve credit for supplying extras that will appeal to adults as much kids."
