"Originally released as a 3-D IMAX feature, James Cameron's deep-sea documentary Ghosts of the Abyss finds the director and his actor pal Bill Paxton tagging along with a group of scientists as they descend to the ocean floor to explore the wreck of the Titanic. This DVD brings the film from the larger-than-life IMAX theaters to your home, presenting it in widescreen with the English soundtrack in THX-Certified Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. A French-dubbed track is also available. Not only does the disc feature the original 62-minute version of the film, it also boasts a never-before-seen 92-minute extended version as well as several supplemental features. There is a featurette with additional footage from the voyage and interviews with the director and participants and an interactive feature that allows viewers to explore the Titanic's staircase from multiple angles."
