Coming Distractions

"Given Troma Team Pictures' undeniable genius for exploitation, a collection of Troma trailers would seem like a foolproof entertainment spectacular, but unfortunately Coming Distractions isn't all you might hope for. Over 70 trailers appear on this disc, presented in a variety of aspect ratios depending on the source material (though most are full-screen), and the audio is in Dolby Digital Stereo. Unfortunately, the disc lacks a ""play-through"" option for any of the categories of previews, meaning that every three or four minutes, the user has to go back to the menu and start over, which gets a bit tiresome after four or five previews. Along with the trailers, Troma have included some amusing odds and ends, including music videos, phony public service announcements, an aggressively cheerful look at the company's history, and a visit with former Edge TV hostess Tiffany Shepis. Troma fans will doubtless like what's on Coming Distractions, but they might wish it had been put together with a bit more care."
