Pickin' at Peaceful Bend

This concert film caters to devoted fans of the "flatpicking" guitar style. Shot at the Peaceful Bend Americana Music Festival in Steelville, Missouri, and co-presented by SimpleFolk Productions and Flatpicking Guitar Magazine, the program showcases performances by three of the most touted winners of the National Flatpicking Guitar Championship over its first 30 years: Robin Kessinger (1985 winner), Mark Cosgrove (1995 winner and Robert Shafer (1983 and 2000 winner). In this particular event, the three musicians team up as a trio and in different duet combinations, on a breadth of music that includes slow waltzes, fast-paced fiddle tunes, and much more. The film makes frequent use of extreme close-ups of the players' right and left hands to aid guitar-playing viewers who want to master the techniques on display.
