"Marvin Gaye: Live in Montreux 1980 was filmed with a very simple multi-camera method that brings the audience close to the concert. However, its intimate style leaves little room for visual invention. The full-frame transfer contains little dirt or grain, but it also lacks any major digital enhancements from its initial form. The audio provides an effective listening experience, especially from the 5.1 channel Dolby Digital track. This one offers the greatest amount of complexity, and appears to showcase a bit more power than its DTS companion. Only slightly weaker, the DTS transfer also exudes a nice level of force and depth. The 2.0 channel PCM stereo track is definitely the worst option, as its volume is much lower than the other choices. It is basically clear and suitable if your technical capabilities are limited to this format, though. The only notable extra feature is an essay from expert Dave McAleer that gives an interesting overview of Marvin Gaye's career. It also discusses each tune performed during the Montreux concert. Chapter stops are also included, which allow fans to revisit their favorite Gaye tracks."
