The Grateful Dead: Anthem to Beauty

While The Grateful Dead were best known for their epic live shows, they also made several classic albums, and this documentary (produced for VH1's Classic Albums series) looks at the Dead's work in the recording studio from 1967, when they recorded their ground-breaking set Anthem Of The Sun, to 1970 and the release of the lighter, country-influenced American Beauty. This video features interviews with several members of the band (and a rare chat with lyricist Robert Hunter) as well as vintage performance footage of the Dead playing classics like Ripple, Box Of Rain and Mountains Of The Moon.
