An intimate and personal look into the life and music of singer/songwriter Elliott Smith. Director Nickolas Dylan Rossi has woven together a tapestry of lost interviews, demo tapes, and isolating shots of Smith's former residences in Portland and New York City. Smith suffered from depression and substance abuse and committed suicide in 2003 during the production of his final studio album.
