"Francis Poulenc's 20th century opera ""Dialogues des Carm?lites"" was given a striking production in 1999 by director Jan Latham-Koenig with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Stras, and this DVD release preserves the performance in a strong presentation. Dialogues des Carm?lites has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.77:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in PCM Stereo; the opera is performed in French, with optional subtitles in English, German, and Japanese. No additional bonus material has been included for this edition."
