Rigoletto (Gran Teatre del Liceu) [Blu-ray]

The Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona mounted this 2004 production of Giuseppe Verdi's three-act 1851 opera +Rigoletto, with a cast that includes Marcelo ?lvarez as Il Duca di Mantova, Carlos ?lvarez as Rigoletto, Inva Mula as Gilda, Julian Konstantinov as Sparafucile and Nino Suguladze as Maddalena. The Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu provide added musical support, under the baton of Jesus-Lopez Cobos; Jos? Luis Basso serves as chorus master. Paul Brown designed the sets and costumes; Graham Vick directs for the stage.
