Simon Boccanegra (Wiener Staatsoper) [Blu-ray]

The Wiener Staatsoper mounted this 2002 production of Giuseppe Verdi's +Simon Boccanegra, with the legendary Thomas Hampson as Simon, Cristina Gallardo-Dom?s in the dual role of Amelia Grimaldi and Amelia Grimaldi, Ferruccio Furlanetto as Jacopo Fiesco and Miroslav Dvorsk? as Gabriele Adorno. The Chorus and Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera lend added musical support, with Daniele Gatti conducting and Ernst Dunshirn serving as chorus master; Stefan Mayer designed the sets; and Moidele Bickel created the costumes.
