British experimental theater maker Simon McBurney brings his uniquely quirky touch to this eclectic and innovative restaging of the beloved Mozart classic. Handsome prince Tamino (Maximilian Schmitt) is on a quest to rescue the fair maiden Pamina (Christina Landshamer) from the sinister wizard Sarastro (Brindley Sherratt), with the comedic help of earthy Papageno the bird catcher (Thomas Oliemans) and an enchanted flute that reverses sadness.
