Gloriana [Blu-ray]

Britten's opera about the tortuous relationship between Elizabeth I and the Earl of Essex, was written to celebrate the Coronation of Elizabeth II. Since then it has been neglected but Richard Jones' production for Covent Garden in 2013 brought it into vivid focus.
