An ancient deity known as Bai Qian (Liu Yifei) is resurrected as a mortal in her quest to become a High Goddess. While living as a mortal, she meets and falls in love with a man named Ye Hua (Yang Yang), but a betrayal leads her to return to the Nine Heavens alone. Centuries later, the pair meet again in different incarnations, and Ye Hua must heal the past and remind Bai Qian of what they once had if they are ever to be happy again.
