"Fans of politically incorrect satire take note, the second season of Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello, and Stephen Colbert's wildly irreverent comedy series arrives on DVD courtesy of Comedy Central Home Video. Presented in 1.33:1 full-frame, the image as presented on these discs looks even better than the episodes likely did on pay cable. The image is stable, with vivid colors and even skin tones throughout. Likewise, the Dolby Digital Stereo soundtrack faithfully recreates the audio mix of the show in a rich and full presentation that lacks any traces of hiss or distortion. As with the Strangers With Candy: Season 1 release, this two-disc set offers optional audio commentary by Colbert, Dinello, and Sedaris on four of their favorite episodes -- and, needless to say, it's obvious that they had a blast recording it. While it may not be one of the more technically informative audio tracks out there, the trio's notable onscreen chemistry certainly transfers into real life, and their interaction is both fun and entertaining to listen to. The same goes for the disc's sole remaining feature, an extended interview with the cast recorded for The Museum of Television and Radio. In addition to the three aforementioned stars, this interview offers the insight of co-star Greg Holliman and producer Kent Alterman -- with other members of the cast present and making only a brief appearance. It's a fun interview, and in the vein of the commentary tracks, the group really has fun riffing on one another's comments, which address everything from gags that were eventually cut to the evolution of television comedy in general. It's also interesting to hear them comment about how -- for the most part -- the creators purposefully opted not to utilize topical humor in hopes of giving the series both an extended shelf life and creating their own warped little universe. It's an interview that really adds a nice touch to the disc and provides that slight improvement over the release of the first season."
