Elvira's Movie Macabre: Count Dracula's Great Love

When he wasn't playing a werewolf, Spanish horror star Paul Naschy (aka Javier Molina) could usually be found the cape and cowl of a vampire. In Count Dracula's Great Love, Naschy essays the dual role of the titular count and a fellow named "Wendell". The central dilemma of the film is Dracula's internal battle between satiating his thirst for blood and satisfying his carnal urges. Most Paul Naschy aficionados consider this effort to be his best film. Originally titled Gran Amore del Conde Dracula, the film was also released as Dracula's Virgin Lovers and Vampire Playgirls.
