Winterhawk (1975), set in 1870's Montana, stars Leif Erickson as Guthrie, a fur trapper who becomes trapped in a bloody conflict between Chief Winterhawk and his tribe, and a group of violent trappers who revolt after two women from their community are abducted by Winterhawk himself. Grayeagle (1977) stars Ben Johnson as John Colter, a trapper looking to find the Cheyenne tribe member who kidnapped his daughter, Beth (Lana Wood), who has begun to fall for her captor.
