Tombs of the Blind Dead

Also known as Tombs of the Blind Dead, this Spanish gorefest is redeemed by a solid plot and good production values. The film is set in the present, but its sensibilities are rooted in the past. It seems that a 13th-century cotillion of Knights Templar were blinded and put under a curse, requiring them to resurface every hundred years or so. Each time, they must kill innocent victims in order to replenish their own strength. As the film opens, it's that time again!
