Inspired by the popular coffee table book Hotspots Revisited - Earth's Biologically Richest And Most Endangered Terrestrial Ecoregions, director Michael Tobias' expeditionary, feature-length documentary highlights how some of the most inventive conservation efforts have proven successful when implemented around the world while exploring just what it will take to ensure that the Earth remains habitable for centuries to come. As scientists at Conservation International highlight thirty-five terrestrial hotspots in such locations as Brazil, Chile, Madagascar, New Zealand, and the United States, the filmmakers travel far and wide to document a variety of species that have never been captured on camera.
