H.M.S. Pinafore

The Guthrie Theater mounted this colorful 2011 production of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan's 1878 operetta +H.M.S. Pinafore, which originally aired in the U.S. on public television. It stars Christina Baldwin as Buttercup, Robert O. Berdahl as Captain Corcoran, Barbara Bryne as Queen Victoria, and Aleks Knezevich as Ralph Rackstraw. Joe Dowling directs for the stage, David Bolger did the choreography and musical staging, and Fabio Toblini designed the costumes.
