The Marines

The PBS documentary The Marines charts the history, culture, ethos and intent of the United States Marine Corps. It unearths the "warrior" mystique that lies behind this American institution, and moves into detailed explorations of what one must endure to become a marine and what the status of membership signifies, ideologically. The program also discusses the tight-knit, almost fraternal bond that typically develops between members of the corps.
