This is the fifth revision of Preventing Lead Poisoning in Young Children by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As with the previous statements, the recommendations presented here are based on scientific evidence and practical considerations. This revision accompanies a companion document, A Review of Evidence of Adverse Health Effects Associated with Blood Lead Levels <10 μg/dL in Children, developed by Advisory Committee on Lead Poisoning Prevention which reviews the scientific evidence for adverse effects in children at blood lead levels below 10 μg/dL.
