See How They Fall

In this French film noir a man searches for the men who shot his friend. The story follows two parallel plots, one past, one present that do not converge until the very end. In the present, Simon Hirsch, a restless salesman bored with his middle-aged life, decides to help his adventurous friend Mickey, a cop, watch a stakeout. Mickey falls into a coma after he is shot on duty. The police seem disinterested in discovering the perpetrator so Simon abandons his job and family to solve the case himself. In the past, Max, an aging crook and lone wolf, decides to teach his new companion Johnny, a simple fellow, the art of thuggery so Johnny can help shake people down. The easily programmed Johnny becomes the perfect assassin. Together they set out upon their bloody path. Meanwhile Simon keeps searching.
