The Camera I: Autofiction

This experimental release from the Parisian avant-garde director Florence Romand finds the filmmaker undertaking a footloose journey through various cities of the world and romantic interludes. Against the backdrop of several continents, and in many languages, Romand stages humorous fantasies for the camera, that pose serious questions about the nature of film itself and the identity of the artist. As an extension of the work's self-reflexive elements, Romand dissects long-buried family myths, examines her own lovers, and finally turns the camera on herself, for a series of intimate autobiographical revelations.
