This musical release captures a performance of Gioachino Rossini's large-scale choral work "Petite Messe Solennelle", recorded live at the Gewandhaus Leipzig on November 6-7 in 2008, in honor of the 140th anniversary of the composer's death. Among the performers collaborating for the performance are conductor Riccardo Chailly, soprano Alexandrina PEndatchanska, alto Manuela Custer, the Choir of the Leipzig Opera, the Gewandhauschoir, and others.
