The Shopworn Angel

A remake of the 1929 film, this movie is based on the story Saturday Evening Post, by Dana Burnet, and takes place in New York City at the beginning of World War I. When Texas soldier Bill Pettigrew (James Stewart) is set to be shipped overseas, he meets and become enamored of performer Daisy Heath (Margaret Sullavan). As Daisy helps to make Bill's last days in the States less lonely, she must fend off her jealous boyfriend (Walter Pidgeon), who is convinced she's cheating on him.
