Based on the novel A Man of Property by John Galsworthy, this drama is about a Victorian woman who falls for her niece's fiance, in spite of their friendship and her marital status, and creates a great social scandal. That Forsyte Woman was the directorial debut of Compton Bennet and was later remade for the BBC as The Forsyte Saga.
