Adapted from the play La Folle de Chaillot by Jean Giraudoux, Madwoman of Chaillot focuses on a plot to drill for oil in Paris. Countess Aurelia (Katharine Hepburn) uncovers the plan and decides to trap the perpetrators by announcing she has discovered oil herself.
