Based on the beloved fairy tale "Cinderella," this musical follows homely Ella (Leslie Caron) as she endures the misery inflicted on her by her two evil stepsisters. When Ella meets the odd Mrs. Toquet (Estelle Winwood) in the forest, their friendship inspires the girl to seek out happiness. Featuring the Paris ballet and choreographer Roland Petit, this film features a number of dance sequences.
