Love Crimes of Kabul

Documentary filmmaker Tanaz Eshaghian profiles three inmates at the Badam Bagh Women's Prison in Kabul, Afghanistan, where nearly half of the convicts have been incarcerated for such "moral crimes" as premarital sex and infidelity. Interviews with the inmates, their families, and prison officials offer a glimpse of life in an oppressive society where freedom can be stripped away for committing a simple act of love.
