After losing their jobs in a seedy diner, a pair of bumblers accept jobs at their friend's bookstore and throw the place into complete disorder. This strained farce soon finds the blunderers dealing with a case of mistaken identity, Russian secret agents, and incompetent bank robbers, amongst other problems.
