The Piano Guy 1-on-1 Series with Scott Houston: Stardust

The titular "Piano Guy" is Scott Houston, a maestro pianist who dons his teacher's hat in this instructional program. The lessons at hand are designed to carry those with little-to-no musical experience from the level of a novice piano player to that of a seasoned expert. Compositionally, each volume combines around 2 1/2 hours of hands-on instrumental instruction with lead sheets, and focuses (somewhat uniquely for a program of this nature) on one particular tune; Houston spends the lesson breaking the given number down into pieces, and has each viewer play the song one step at a time, while various measures are highlighted on the lead sheets. This particular installment of the Piano Guy series teaches aspiring players the 1927 Hoagy Carmichael tune "Stardust," a staple of the Great American Songbook.
