There is so much written about the negative symptoms and effects of ADD - this book takes a completely different view of the diagnosis. Brad also takes issue with using the word "disorder" in the diagnosis. He believes it should be called simply "Attention Deficit," because children should not be made to feel broken or defective. People with ADD have brains that process information at an incredible speed compared to others, so why is that a "disorder"? Brad believes the ADD brain is far more productive and creative than most people, so he sees nothing "disordered" about that. By telling children that they are "disordered," we crush their confidence and make them question their abilities.

Confidence is the most critical characteristic in successful people. If you have confidence, you move fearlessly through life making powerful decisions for your personal life and career. If you lack confidence, you make emotionally safe decisions and question yourself at every turn. Brad's mission in life is to re-instill confidence in all children and adults, so that they can recognize their gifts and have extraordinary careers and lives.
