"A fine documentary on one of the most influential rock bands of all time, The Velvet Underground: Under Review gets a strong presentation on this DVD release. The Velvet Underground: Under Review has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The image quality is good, and while the quality of many vintage film clips is less than pristine, this release at least shows them to better advantage than the handful of bootleg releases of such material. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, and the sound is rich and full bodied throughout. The narration and interviews are in English, with no subtitles or language options included. As a bonus, the disc includes additional interview outtakes, biographies of the contributors, and a challenging Velvet Underground trivia quiz. This is that rare documentary on the Velvet Underground that might tell fans a few things they didn't already know, and it's certainly worth a look."
