Guns of the Timberlands

Jim Hadley (Alan Ladd) is a government contracted logger in the Nothwest Territory. He meets with resistance from ranchers who fear the logging will ruin the the land by upsetting the water table. Led by Laura Riley (Jeane Crain), the ranchers try to reason with Hadley until a renegade rancher turns to violence. Laura separates herself from the mele and falls in love with Hadley. Taken from Louis L'Amour's novel of the same name, Guns Of The Timberland marks the screen debut of Frankie Avalon, who sings a few songs.
