Black Tape

Recalling The Blair Witch Project (1999) and other similar films, the Iranian pseudo-documentary Black Tape takes the form of a video tape "found" in the garbage. When played back, it tells the story of a young Persian bride's day-to-day life. Gradually, she becomes increasingly aware of her domination and enslavement at the hands of her tyrannical husband, and begins to investigate his own dubious and shady involvement in the local military. Step by step, she overcomes the obstacles that prevent her from escaping subjugation - including intimidation and fear - and begins to fight back and stand up for herself.
