Author Biography: Walter Wangerin, Jr. first came to prominence as the award-winning author of The Book of the Dun Cow. He since has won many other awards and honors for his books, which include Reliving the Passion, Mourning Into Dancing, Ragman and Other Cries of Faith, As for Me and My House, The Manger is Empty, Little Lamb Who Made Thee?, and The Book of Sorrows.

His book Miz Lil and the Chronicles of Grace has been adapted as a screenplay by the award-winning writer Horton Foote.

Wangerin holds the Jochum Chair at Valparaiso University, where he is a writer-in-residence. He lives with his wife in Valparaiso, Indiana.
