Memphis in our Hearts

The war between the states has been over just long enough to heat to the danger point a national cauldron of hate, destruction, and more dangers in every walk of life than heretofore dreamed of. Three families strive to bring their lives back to normal. The Allen's buy a river boat line; the Suttons own a newspaper; and the LeMares have the only gourmet restaurant. Times change but people do not. Our hearts alternately ache and cheer them on, sharing the perils and joys until their storied city and love triumph.
