Quentin Abbot is a contractor with thriving construction business and a loving relationship with Wendy Thompson, who also serves as his accountant. When he is called to the tiny border town of Terwilliger, he thinks he will be gone only "a couple of days." However, after taking control of his father's vast business conglomerate on a whim, he finds himself thrust into a new and heady world of fast, easy and devious profits and the almost limitless power that accompanies vast wealth.
