Once Burned

Chris Lovell is a beautiful blue-eyed blonde career woman with her feet solidly on the ground. Accountable to no one, capable of standing on her own two feet. Having been a child of divorce whose father deserted her and her mother, jilted by her boyfriend in college and suffering still from the death of her mother. Chris vows never to love or depend on anyone again. She locks away her heart until she comes face to face with a dark-eyed man whose sheer good looks stun her into simply gaping at him like she's never seen a man before. Horrified and embarrassed at her gauche reaction, she runs from him without a word. He pursues just as quickly and begins a hide and seek pursuit to the amusement of her friends. He catches up with her when he turns in a fire claim and she can't run from him any more--she's his insurance claim adjuster!
