Out of the blue, Megan Donner inherits a sailboat from a man her mother knew years ago. She asks Ed to help her sail it to Jacksonville, but her boat is mysteriously sunk by gunfire only a few miles from Miami during a test of repairs. Subsequent investigation discovers a damaged and leaking nuclear device had been built into the boat and a trail of residual radiation leads from Miami all the way to New York along Interstate 95. Within days of that discovery, three journalists are arrested on spying charges at a nuclear facility in the Middle East. Helping the journalists escape before they can become bargaining chips must be accomplished anonymously for corporate and political reasons.
