Sarah Gordon is receiving emails from someone calling themselves 'Notebookwriter' and signing the messages with the strange signature, "Love C.A.R.L.O.S.. Who is C.A.R.L.O.S." What does he want? And why can't she block the emails arriving on her computer? Assisted by her good-looking, computer-geek neighbor, Gavin McMaster, she discovers that she's being stalked--online. Sarah's feelings for Gavin intensify with their growing relationship until she comes to rely heavily on him. Gavin enlists the help of Martin Hoffman, hacker extraordinaire and a member of the "Fraud Squad." Together they work to track down Sarah's stalker. Sarah realizes that things aren't what they seem with Gavin when Martin warns her that the messages she's receiving are being sent from Gavin's computer. Can he be stopped?
