Practice Book (1909)

First published in 1901, this book is a collection of poetry and prose pieces intended for memorization and practice speaking. "EXERCISES FOR ELEMENTAL VOCAL EXPRESSION. The exercises under each chapter have primarily the characteristics of that chapter, and secondarily the characteristics of the other two chapters." For example, "CHAPTER I. VITALITY. MIND ACTIVITIES DOMINATED BY A CONSCIOUSNESS OF Power, Largeness, Freedom, Animation, Movement."
