When a plane crashes in New Jersey, apparently due to a computer virus, the NTSB asks Rick Masterson, a convicted hacker, to help find the cause. Accompanied by his former professor John Cameron and FBI Agent Emma Dupres, they follow the trail to Silicon Valley in California where they are plunged into a world of corporate espionage, avarice and murder.
