Vampire

The fifth story in the collection Timekeeping on Mars. Nearly 250 years after the events in "The Bicycle Messenger", humans are now forced to live under radiation shielding to protect themselves against the sun's lethal radiation. Plagues and epidemics have ravaged society which now forcibly transfuses a slave case of plague survivors to harvest their antibodies.
